We are always interested to hear from people who would like to be a Trustee Board member. Don’t worry if you’ve never done it before, we train you and ensure that you are properly briefed on all matters before you come to meetings to join in the discussions.
Trustee Board meetings are held every eight weeks. They start at 9.30 and don’t normally take more than a couple of hours.
Please contact us for a full job description if you would like to know more about being an RJ conference facilitator or second.
You should know that each case you are allocated will take 5-10 hours to complete depending on the complexity.
It is difficult to say how many cases a year you will be asked to do as this depends on where the cases are situated. However, we try to share them out fairly so everyone gets to practice their skills.
We take very great care to support you in your work, we ensure your safety and work towards you having a rewarding community volunteer experience.
If you would like to progress after you have gained some experience we will ask you to join on cases that are more serious such as burglary or that have complex and sensitive issues. You will receive more training to do this.
Most cases are held in the early evening or at weekends. We always choose neutral venues.
